Resumen
El artÃculo aborda el tema de la sexualidad en la cultura prehispánica mediante un análisis de tres puntos esenciales: 1) las diversas nociones de sexualidad, 2) los sistemas de control y, 3) el trabajo individual, ascética o dominio que el sujeto debe mostrar ante la misma. En la primera parte se revisa el vÃnculo de la sexualidad con el ámbito divino y con el mundo social para posteriormente analizar la educación que se daba en los templos-escuela, asà como el control ideológico y la coerción mediante el castigo. La parte final se dedica a una reflexión sobre las relaciones entre la ascética o dominio individual y los sistemas normativos.
Abstract
This article discusses sexuality in prehispanic culture through the analysis of three essential issues: 1) the different notions of sexuality, 2) the systems of control, y 3) the individual work, ascetic or self-control that the subject must show towards it. The first part of the article talks about the relationship between sexuality, the domain of divinity and the social world. The next part analyses the education imparted in temple- churches, as well as the ideological control and the processes of coercion through punishment. The final part reflects about the relationship between ascetics or individual self-control and normative systems.
